Happy birthday, Cliff Williams...
Born Clifford Williamson on 14 December 1949 in Romford, Essex, England, Cliff Williams is a bassist best known for his membership in Australian hard rock band AC/DC since 1977
Cliff Williams had started his career in 1967 in the British groups Home and Bandit.
His first performances with AC/DC were on the tour supporting the album Let There Be Rock in place of  Mark Evans (lineup: Malcolm Young (rhythm guitar and backing vocals), Angus Young (lead guitar), Phil Rudd (drums) and Bon Scott (vocals), Cliff Williams (bass and backing vocals)).
His first studio album with AC/DC was Powerage in 1978.
Williams has remained in AC/DC ever since (only a short medical leave in 1991 and replaced by Paul Greg) and the only members who have been longer with the band are Angus and Malcolm Young.
Cliff Williams and the other band members were inducted into the American Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.
Kerrang! readers voted him as Best Bassist of the year in 1982 but he always declared playing only basic bass lines which follow the rhythm guitar of Malcolm Young, consisting mostly of eighth notes and never had any problem doing this, because he enjoyed playing simply.
He essentially play on an electric bass guitar Music Man StingRay introduced by Music Man in 1976 and strung with D'Addario .
His favourite albums with the band are Powerage (1978) and Back in Black (1980).
To conclude, we wish a happy birthday and years of rock to Cliff Williams!

Joyeux anniversaire, Cliff Williams ...
