Happy birthday, Andrew Hunt...
Born on February 26 1983 in Neath, Wales, United Kingdom, Andrew Hunt is a singer best known as the vocalist of Buffalo Summer.
Andrew began to be interrested in music at a very young age. As a kid, he would listen to Dire Straits whilst wearing a red headband and playing on a toy guitar pretending to be Mark Knopfler.
When he was seven, he first heard The Clash on the radio on his Walkman but his main influences include a wide variety of artists and bands such as Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Led Zeppelin, Jeff Buckley, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson...
When he was 16, Andrew got a job and used the money he earnt to buy his first guitar, a black epiphone Les Paul junior. Self-taught, he also learnt to play bass later.
Although he had always enjoyed singing and music, it was only after buying his guitar that Andrew realized that he wanted to focus on music. As time went by, he realized he was becoming a better singer than a guitarist so he started to focus more on that.
In 2000, with childhood friends, Andrew formed his first band, Lethargy, in which he played the guitar. While in Lethargy, he also sang harmonies and sometimes lead vocals.
Lethargy's first self released demos, Efficiency Verses, were released in April 2001.
The band's debut album, Road Out Of Nowhere, was released in December 2004. They released another album, Purification, in November 2008.
After being together for 12 years, Lethargy was put on an indefinite hiatus.
Andrew and his friend Jonny Williams wrote and played together for years, starting in 2007, before beginning to rehearse with Andrew's brother Gareth on drums and their friend Darren Joseph-King on bass. Buffalo Summer was formed and the lineup has remained the same since (2010)(lineup: Andrew Hunt (lead vocals), Jonny Williams (guitar, backing vocals), Darren Joseph-King (bass, backing vocals), Gareth Hunt (drums)).
Their self-titled debut album was released in 2011.
For their first tour, in 2013, Buffalo Summer opened for Duff McKagan's Walking Papers.
The following years, Buffalo Summer toured with bands such as Ugly Kid Joe, Skid Row, Heaven's Basement, Scorpion Child, Monster Truck...
Their second album, Second Sun, was released in 2016.
In December the same year, Buffalo Summer entered the studio to record their third album, which will be released in 2017.
They also have a headline tour of Spain planned for April 2017, and a tour of the UK and Europe with Whiskey Myers planned for May 2017.
The band is also currently running an indie go go campaign where fans can order vinyl of their debut album, along with a CD re-issue and a lot of other perks (campaign ends on March 7 2017).

Né le 26 février 1983 à Neath, Pays de Galles, Royaume-Uni, Andrew Hunt est un chanteur mieux connu en tant que chanteur de Buffalo Summer.
Andrew commence à s'intéresser à la musique très jeune. Enfant, il prétend être Mark Knopfler alors qu'il joue sur un jouet guitare en portant un bandeau rouge et en écoutant Dire Straits.

Quand il a 16 ans, il se trouve un travail et économise pour acheter sa première guitare, une epiphone Les Paul junior noire. Autodidacte, il apprend aussi à jouer de la basse.
Bien qu'il ait toujours aimé la musique et le chant, ce n'est qu'après avoir acheté sa guitare qu'Andrew se rend compte qu'il veut se concentrer sur la musique. Avec le temps, il devient meilleur chanteur que guitariste et décide de se concentrer sur le chant.
En 2000, avec des amis, Andrew forme son premier groupe, Lethargy, dans lequel il joue de la guitare. Alors qu'il joue dans Lethargy, il chante aussi des harmonies et parfois le chant principal.
Les premières démos de Lethargy, qu'ils sortent eux-mêmes en avril 2001, sont appelées Efficiency Verses.
Le premier album du groupe, Road Out Of Nowhere, sort en décembre 2004. Ils sortent un autre album, Purification, en novembre 2008.
Après avoir été ensemble pendant 12 ans, les membres de Lethargy décident de mettre le groupe en pause indéfiniment.
Andrew et son ami Jonny Williams écrivent et jouent ensemble pendant des années, commençant en 2007, avant de se mettre à répéter avec le frère d'Andrew, Gareth, à la batterie et leur ami Darren Joseph-King à la basse. Buffalo Summer est alors formé et le lineup reste inchangé depuis (2010)(lineup: Andrew Hunt (chant, Jonny Williams (guitare, choeur), Darren Joseph-King (basse, choeur), Gareth Hunt (batterie)).
Leur éponyme premier album sort en 2011.
Pour leur première tournée, en 2013, Buffalo Summer font la première partie du groupe de Duff McKagan Walking Papers.
Les années suivantes, Buffalo Summer font des tournées avec des groupes tels qu'Ugly Kid Joe, Skid Row, Heaven's Basement, Scorpion Child, Monster Truck...
Leur deuxième album, Second Sun, sort en 2016.
En décembre de la même année, Buffalo Summer entrent en studio pour enregistrer leur troisième album, qui sortira en 2017.
Ils ont aussi une tournée en Espagne prévue pour avril 2017, et une tournée du Royaume-Uni et d'Europe avec Whiskey Myers prévue pour mai 2017.
Le groupe organise en ce moment une campagne durant laquelle les fans peuvent commander un vinyl du premier album aux côtés d'une nouvelle édition du CD et plein d'autres avantages (la campagne se termine le 7 mars 2017).
