Happy birthday, Richie Sambora...
Born Richard Stephen Sambora on July 11 1959 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey (US), Richie Sambora is a rock guitarist, producer, singer and songwriter who is mostly known as the longtime lead guitarist of the rock band Bon Jovi.
He began playing the guitar at the age of 12 following the death of guitar legend Jimi Hendrix in 1970.
From his early days Sambora was strongly influenced by blues and 60s rock n' roll. His most important influences were The Beatles, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johnny Winter, Jimmy Page, Joe Perry, George Harrison, and Joe Kmiecik.
Before joining Bon Jovi, he was a guitarist for the band Message, and with that band he gave out a record, which was re-released in 1995 under the name Message, and in 2000 under the name Lessons.
In 1983, Sambora went to a show and, after being impressed by Jon Bon Jovi, approached him and informed him that he thought they should work together.
Soon after, Bon Jovi added Sambora to replace original lead guitarist Dave Sabo.
He and frontman Jon Bon Jovi form the primary songwriting unit of the band.
So far, Bon Jovi (Jon Bon Jovi: lead vocals, rhythm guitar, acoustic guitar (1983–present), David Bryan : keyboards, piano, backing vocals (1983–present), Tico Torres : drums, percussion (1983–present), Richie Sambora : lead guitar, backing vocals (1983–present), Alec John Such : bass, backing vocals (1983–1994), Hugh McDonald : bass, backing vocals (1994–present)) has released 12 studio albums, plus three compilations and two live albums. They are one of the world’s best-selling bands of all time, having sold more than 130 million records worldwide.
After more than 30 years of a close collaboration, 2,700 concerts performed in over 50 countries for more than 34 million fans, on 2 April 2013, Richie Sambora departed the band's ongoing tour for unspecified "personal reasons". Phil X replaced him for the remainder of the tour.
It was rumoured that  Sambora had been fired but both Sambora and Jon Bon Jovi later denied the claim.
He has also released three solo albums: Stranger in This Town in 1991,  Undiscovered Soul in 1998, and his third, Aftermath of the Lowdown was released in September 2012.
Past fifteen years, Sambora knows some problems with alcohol and followed several treatments against this addicton.
Sambora has been known to use a wide variety of equipment throughout his career. He has an extensive guitar collection, featuring more than 120 instruments.
To conclude, we wish a happy birthday and years of rock to Richie Sambora!

Joyeux anniversaire, Richie Sambora ...
Jusqu'à présent, Bon Jovi (Jon Bon Jovi : chanteur, guitare rythmique, guitare acoustique (1983 - présent), David Bryan : claviers, piano, choeurs (depuis 1983), Tico Torres : batterie, percussions (1983 - présent), Richie Sambora : lead guitar, choeurs (1983 - présent), Alec John Such : basse, choeurs (1983-1994), Hugh McDonald : basse, choeurs (depuis 1994)) a publié 12 albums studio, trois compilations et deux albums live.
