Stephen Pearcy, 2011

Happy birthday, Stephen Pearcy...
Born Stephen Eric Pearcy on July 3 1956 in San Diego, California, US, Stephen Pearcy is a vocalist and songwriter. He is best known as the singer of Ratt.
When he was a teenager, Pearcy didn't express any desire to pursue a music career, he wanted to be a top fuel race car driver.
In summer 1971, while he was riding his friends bike, he was hit by a hit-and-run driver. When he was in hospital, he was given an acoustic guitar. After a short time, he decided to focuse more on music than on driving cars.
In the late 70s, he formed the band Mickey Ratt.
The band's name was shortened to Ratt after they moved the Los Angeles (original lineup: Stephen Pearcy (vocals), Warren DeMartini (guitar, backing vocals), Robbin Crosby (guitar, backing vocals), Juan Croucier (bass, backing vocals), Bobby Blotzer (drums, percussion)).
The band released a self-tittled EP in 1983.
Their first LP, Out of the Cellar (1984), went multi-platinium.
During its first decade, the band released one gold and four platinium albums.
In 1992, Pearcy left Ratt and formed the band Arcade with Fred Coury. The band released a self tittled album in 1993 and another album in 1994.
In 1996, with guitarist Al Pitrelli, bassist Robbie Crane and drummer Hiro Kuretani, Pearcy formed the band Vertex.
In 1996, he also reunited with Ratt but left them in 2000.
In June 2005, Pearcy released Rat Attack, a compilation of reworked Mickey Ratt and Ratt songs, featuring musicians George Lynch and Tracii Guns.
The same year, he also appeared on VH1 Classic's Metal Mania Stripped tour alongside with Kip Winger, Jani Lane, Don Dokken and Firehouse.
In March 2007, it was announced that Ratt would take part in the Rocklahoma summer festival. The lineup was composed of: Stephen Pearcy (vocals), Warren DeMartini (guitar, backing vocals), John Corabi (guitar, backing vocals), Robbie Crane (bass, backing vocals) and Bobby Blotzer (drums, percussion).
On April 24 2014, it was announced that Pearcy has quit Ratt.
The current lineup of his solo band is compsoed of: Stephen Pearcy (lead vocals, guitar), Erik Ferentinos (guitar, backing vocals), Matt Thorne (bass, keyboards, backing vocals), Greg D'Angelo (drums) and Chris Hager (guitar, backing vocals).
To conclude, we wish a happy birthday and years of rock to Stephen Pearcy!
