Happy birthday, Barbara Schenker...
Born on July 2 1966 in Sarstedt, Lower Saxony, Germany, Barbara Schenker is a hard rock keyboardist.
She has two brothers who are very famous in the same kind of music : Rudolf (guitarist, founding member of the band Scorpions) and Michael (guitarist, founding member of the band Scorpions and member of the band UFO).
During the 80s, she got famous when she founded the hard rock band Viva (Barbara Schenker (keyboards, synthesizer, spinet), Andy Fach (lead and rythm guitars), Ralph Murthy (lead and rythm guitars), Marc Paganini (vocals), Andy "Waldo" Kawaldt (bass), Martin Pietschak (drums)) with which she records the albums Born To Rock (1980), What The Hell Is Going On! (1981) and Dealers Of The Night (1982).
She wrote most of the songs.
She got elected the best national keyboardist by Metal Hammer in 1984.
In 1985, Barbare joined the band Rosy Vista and recorded the singles Tables Are Turned and Rocking Through The Night.
She currently plays in the band SchenkersSister.
