Born Daniel Snider on March 15, 1955 in Astoria, New York, US., Dee Snider is a singer-songwriter, screenwriter, radio personality, and actor. He is best known as the frontman of the heavy metal band Twisted Sister (classic lineup: Dee Snider (lead vocals), Eddie "Fingers" Ojeda (lead & rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Jay Jay French (rhythm & lead guitar, backing vocals), Mark "The Animal" Mendoza (bass, backing vocals), A. J. Pero (drums, percussion)).
In the Hit Parader's Top 100 Metal Vocalist of All Time, he ranked 83.
In early 1976, he joined Twisted Sister and thereafter became the songwriter of the band. In 1982, the band released their first studio album : Under the Blade.
Their third album, Stay Hungry, is their most successful record with the hits "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock".
Dee is also known because of his metal-inspired drag look with with long blond hair, an excessive amount of eye shadow and rouge, and bright red lipstick.
