Happy birthday, Fred Coury...
Born on October 20 1967 in Johnson City, New York, US, Fred Coury is a musician and producer best known as the drummer of Cinderella.
His drumming inspirations are Peter Criss, Eric Carr, Tommy Lee, Bobby Blotzer, Tommy Aldridge and Neil Peart.
Coury started taking violin lessons when he was 5. One year later, he made his first public performance.
At the age of 10 he began playing the trumpet. He started playing the drums at the age of 12.
When he was 13, he played in local bars with Sunjammer.
From 1985 to 1986, he played in the band London (where played Lizzie Grey, Nikki Sixx, Izzy Stradlin and several other musicians...).
He joined Cinderella in 1986 (lineup in 1986: Tom Keifer (lead vocals, rhythm & lead guitars, acoustic guitar, keyboards, piano, mandolin, sobro, saxophone, harmonica), Eric Brittingham (bass, backing vocals), Jeff LaBar (lead & rhythm guitars, acoustic guitar, backing vocals), Fred Coury (drums, percussion, backing vocals)).
In December 1987, when Steven Adler was forced off the road by health issues, Coury played in Guns N' Roses, as Adler's substitute.
He left Cinderella in 1991 to form Arcarde with Stephen Pearcy. When Arcade disbanded in 1994, Coury re-joined Cinderella.
In 2006, to celebrate their 20th anniversary, Cinderella and Poison toured together (the both bands had also made their first tour, in 1986, together).
Cinderella toured with Sebastian Bach in summer 2012.
In March 2013, Cinderella played the 2013 Monsters of Rock Cruise.
Coury lives in Los Angeles and composed the goal song for the Los Angeles Kings hockey team.
To conclude, we wish a happy birthday and years of rock to Fred Coury!
