Born Deborah Ann Harry on July 1 1945 in Miami, Florida, US, Debbie Harry is a singer-songwriter and actress best known for being the lead singer of the punk rock and new wave band Blondie (classic lineup: Debbie Harry (lead vocals), Chris Stein (guitar, bass), Frank Infante (guitar, bass, backing vocals), Jimmy Destri (keyboards, piano, synthesizer, organ, backing vocals), Nigel Harrison (bass), Clem Burke (drums, percussion, backing vocals)).
In the late 1960s, Deborah Harry began her musical career as a backing singer for the folk rock group, 'The Wind in the Willows', before she joined The Stilettos with Elda Gentile and Amanda Jones in 1974.
With her boyfriend, the guitarist Chris Stein, she formed Blondie in the mid-1970s.
Still active, Debbie Harry worked in 2006 with Moby and released a new album in the fall of 2007, 'Necessary Evil'.
In late 2010, she made a new album with Blondie called 'Panic of Girls'.
She has also had an acting career (over 30 film roles and numerous television appearances).

Elle est connue comme étant la chanteuse du groupe rock new-yorkais de la période new wave Blondie (lineup classique : Debbie Harry (chant), Chris Stein (guitare, basse), Frank Infante (guitare, basse, choeur), Jimmy Destri (claviers, piano, synthetiseur, orgue, choeur), Nigel Harrison (basse), Clem Burke (batterie, percussions, choeur)).
Sa carrière a débuté avec un groupe folk, "the Wind in the Willows", avant qu'elle rejoigne un trio féminin, The Stilettos, au début des années 1970.
